LYNDON Haviland, DrPH, MPH, is a new candidate for APHA's Executive Board, replacing Lawrence O. Gostin, JD, LLD, who withdrew from the race.

Haviland is a consultant on strategic philanthropy and public health communications and is an adjunct faculty member teaching international health in the University of New Mexico's master's in public health program. She previously worked as chief operating officer for the American Legacy Foundation, was on the faculty at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and was project director at Youth Partnerships for Health.

Haviland is currently chair of APHA's American Journal of Public Health Editorial Board.

Haviland is running against Olivia Carter-Pokras, PhD; Elsie E. Eyer, MS; Harry Perlstadt, PhD, MPH; Giorgio Piccagli, PhD, MPH; and Leslie L. Randall, MPH, RN. Three new members will be voted onto the Executive Board by APHA's Governing Council at this month's APHA Annual Meeting in Boston.
